Antilope Printing: ISO 12.647 is top guarantee for colour
Lier, Belgium, 4 November 2010 – Antilope Printing (‘Antilope’) has just obtained the ISO 12647 certificate, which sets the top standards for colour reproduction worldwide. Antilope was certified for the sub-processes of offset (ISO 12647-2) and prepress (ISO 125647-7).
Complying with ISO standards means that Antilope employs a predictable process from design through to print. Marc Binnemans, Antilope’s managing director: “Naturally, this certificate is a productive marketing tool, yet that is not the aim as such. What we want is a perfectly predictable production process, for that enables us to tell our customers precisely what colour quality they can expect and also to guarantee that quality.
A key point in this ISO certification is rigorous control of all process stages and the documentation. This raises the predictability of the process and also gives the automated steps a very high level of predictability. The A-quality is easier to attain, while the other qualities are taken to a higher level. Less time is lost correcting minor errors and debates with customers about abnormalities or wrong expectations are fewer.
Independent German auditors Fogra, which were certifying a company in Belgium for the first time, issued the ISO certificate. For the certification, Antilope had to undergo a thorough audit. Not only did this involve the total workflow, but also highly technical aspects of for example colour profiles and proofing (prepress) and of course the printing itself.
