Flexibility: the trump card (P.O.D.)

'Print on demand' is the digital revolution's most important achievement in the world of graphics. Being able to print directly from a digital file means that project start-up can be implemented extremely quickly, cutting out the time and cost of having to produce printing plates. Every printed document can be modified at will, causing no delay whatsoever in the printing process. This is ideal for direct mail shots (individually targeted) as well as for printed documents requiring frequent modification (catalogues, price-lists, product files, etc.) In addition, the price for small volume projects is considerably more than the cost of standard printed commercial documents. The following machines represent our range of digital printing presses:

Xeikon DCP32 - DCP500

In 1993, it was the Xeikon digital printing press that first introduced the concept of "printing on demand". The Antilope Group, which immediately saw the potential for this revolutionary printing press, was the first company to test it. Since that date, considerable progress has been made and now text and images can be modified on each page during the printing process.

This has revolutionised the production of direct mail with its ability to personalise each item, produce unusual size formats and introduced cost effectiveness for short volume runs. This is often necessary to incorporate modifications, for example, in catalogues and price-lists. Furthermore, the Xeikon has made colour printing affordable for small and medium print orders.

Xerox Docutech 6180 - Docuprint 65
Where the Xeikon is the specialised equipment for colour print on demand, the DocuTech 6180 prints "on demand" in black and white. This machine is used for digital printing of catalogues, price-lists, notices and instruction manuals, educational course papers and reports. It can even be used to print books.

The Xerox DocuTech 6180 can also be used to produce individually targeted direct mail shots. The digitized information is printed with precise laser quality with finely graded tones of grey. An on line finish ensures an extremely speedy production process.
